S9 and S9+ Design
The major change between the last year flagship s8 and s8+ with latest S9 and S9+ was its fingerprint placement. It was the only flaw that reduces the interest of buying the Galaxy S8 and S8+ . As per the leaks fingerprint has been moved to a new place under the camera module which can be easily reached without any struggle. Other than this there is no change in the design of S9 and S9+. Samsung made a big decision to keep the headphone jack in their smartphone this might give a huge relief to samsung fans. Then there was awesome add on to the phone, now earpiece can also act as speaker and with the compatibility of DOLBY ATMOS which boost the audio output of the smartphone. This can a give a feel of stereo speakers on the front like Pixel 2.
Samsung Galaxy S9 features a 5.8-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1440 x 2960. That equals 567 pixels per inch, which should allow for a super-crisp and clear picture for the high-end flagship device. and Samsung Galaxy S9+ features a 6.2 inch display. Again it has a screen ratio of 18.5:9, with slightly slimmer bezels at the top and bottom of the screen to allow for the same size screen in a smaller body than the Galaxy S8.
This is the Major area where Samsung has made huge improvement to their 2018 flagship.
The Galaxy S9 only features a single lens on the rear of the phone, but Samsung has packed in lots of improvements in its effort to ‘reimagine’ the phone camera.
There’s a 12MP rear sensor with optical image stabilization and a lot of the other features we’ve come to expect from high-end Samsung devices.
S9+ comes with dual 12MP rear sensor with wide angle lens and telephoto lens support.
The Interesting add on to the camera are that they can switch between new dual aperture technology. Where the camera can switch between f/1.5 aperture and f/2.4 aperture for better lighting.
The slow-mo features of the rear shooter have also been improved so you can now shoot at 960 frames per second, which is four times slower than the Galaxy S8 and meets the industry standard set by Sony phones.
On the front of the phone there’s an 8MP shooter with an f/1.7 aperture. This camera also plays into the facial recognition technology you can read about in the other features section at the bottom of this page.
Galaxy S9 and S9+ comes with snapdragon 845 for US users for the other country markets Samsung will sell the phone with their own processor named Exynos 9810 chipset which has equal power like the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset. There’s also only 4GB of RAM in each version of the phone, for 6GB you’ll have to opt for the Galaxy S9 Plus. As for storage, the Galaxy S9 only comes with 64GB of onboard space, but you can add in microSD cards for up to 256GB of extra space. Both the phones with IP68 water proof technology.
Samsung introduced AR Emoji feature which can perform same like the Iphone X.
AR Emoji. Competing with the iPhone X’s Animoji, AR Emoji gives users a cartoon version of themselves they can use to express a range of emotions and reactions. The animations can be sent via SMS, and you can export a custom animation as a GIF, though Samsung’s take on this is more Nintendo Mii than anything.
Additionally, Samsung has added improvements to DeX, the app that lets you connect the phone to a keyboard and monitor for desktop-like experience. The new phones also get stereo Dolby Atmos-powered speakers, ever-so-slightly narrower bezels, the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip, and some new Bixby abilities for good measure.
